Sometimes, it's too easy...

"I would not be surprised in the least to see Martinez go at the trade deadline for more 'young pitching talent and/or hot prospects.'"
- Dante Simonetti, 5/21/09

"I made NO comment about Martinez being traded."

2009

Well, we're four full days into 2009, and Dante has yet to say or do anything (of which I'm aware) that rivals his unparalleled 2008 run of hilarious incompetence. In fact, the last three or four times I've talked to him, he's been remarkably level-headed. This is especially surprising given the most recent version of the Browns now decade long tradition of restarting the franchise every three years. Has Dante turned over a new leaf? Is it possible that it takes five years of being away from South Bend to fully "de-Notre Dame" one's self? To be honest, it would be a rough turn for the life of this blog if that turns out to be the case. But I'll just wait it out for now; despite what Cosmo may tell you, you can't change a man.

In the meantime, where is 2009 going to take us? Will the Yankees replace the "NY" on their hats with dollar signs? Will MTV finally release The State on DVD? Will LeBron fulfill my dreams and propose? Will Don Draper stay with SterlingCooper? Will Chipotle or Shake Shack finally start delivering? Will someone purchase and consume a Zero bar for the first time? Will I fulfill my new year's resolution and have a baby? Stay tuned.
